Microsoft AI Skills Fest is a week-long virtual event focused on helping participants explore Artificial Intelligence skills and learning opportunities.


Throughout the event, participants can engage in live sessions, learning playlists, hackathons, and interactive experiences through AI Skills Navigator.


What you'll explore:

  • Beginner-to-advanced AI learning topics
  • Interactive learning experiences and activities
  • Career pathways connected to AI skills
  • Responsible and ethical AI practices


Participants can also learn more about certifications, badges, and event rewards connected to the program.

SMBC Resume Review Workshop

Join SMBC for a virtual workshop focused on building a professional resume that reflects your skills, education, and experience.

 

We'll cover:

  • Tips for strengthening your resume
  • Ways to highlight your knowledge and skills
  • How to present your experience professionally
  • Resume strategies that can be applied across industries


This session is designed to help students better understand how to present themselves through their resumes.


Who Should Attend:

Sophomore/second year students in a four-year undergraduate program interested in improving their resumes and professional materials.

Cybersecurity Training & Apprentice Opportunities (Aspiritech Academy)


Interested in exploring cybersecurity careers in a supportive learning environment designed for neurodivergent adults?


Aspiritech Academy offers cost-free cybersecurity training opportunities focused on building foundational cybersecurity knowledge and industry-relevant skills.


Two pathways are available:

 

Pathway 1: Cybersecurity Program

(Open to U.S. Residents)


Provides training in cybersecurity fundamentals and related security topics through a structured learning program.


Pathway 2: Cybersecurity Pre-Apprenticeship & Apprenticeship Program

(Illinois Residents Only)


Combines cybersecurity training with a paid apprenticeship opportunity for eligible participants.


Topics include:

  • Cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Network and cloud security
  • Security testing and risk management
  • Incident response and digital forensics
  • Certification exam preparation

Applications are currently closed while Aspiritech Academy launches a new application portal.


Students interested in learning more are encouraged to check back on July 1 for future application opportunities.

Celebrating the Spring 2026 PITCH Cohort


The Center for Career Preparation congratulates the students who participated in the PITCH – Portfolio Integration for Talent, Career & Hireability; which ended May 5, 2026.


Over the course of this 10-week program, students worked to develop professional digital portfolios that showcase their skills, experiences, projects, and career readiness. Participants completed weekly activities focused on personal branding, portfolio development, professional reflection, interview preparation, and to present their work in a polished digital format.
