CCISD proposes $135.4 million bond proposal, no tax rate increase

On Aug. 12, CCISD’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved placing a $135.4 million bond proposal on the Nov. 5 ballot.


The bond package includes a new campus adjacent to Yeager Elementary School (to house Yeager, Kostoryz and Sanders), expansion and renovation of Sam Houston Elementary School (to house Houston, Fannin and Travis), fine arts upgrades districtwide, an additional gym at Haas Middle School, interior renovations at King and Moody High Schools and an addition at Veterans Memorial High School, which will include dedicated space for the school’s new Coast Guard JROTC unit. The package will not affect the district’s tax rate.

Early voting is underway through Nov. 1. Registered voters can choose from multiple polling locations throughout the community, including several at CCISD schools for added convenience.

  • 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. | Oct. 21 - Oct. 25
  • 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. | Oct. 26, Oct. 28 - Nov. 1
