Surrender to Reality
With Rev. Glenn C. Farley
The act of letting go is a time of great tenderness, because it is an admission that a change of our own behavior is required; and that is a very vulnerable position. Nicholas Evans has written: "Sometimes what seems like surrender isn't surrender at all. It's about what's going on in our hearts. About seeing clearly the way life is and accepting it and being true to it, whatever the pain, because the pain of not being true to it is far, far greater."

~ Monthly Touchstone Theme: Truth ~

The purpose of this meeting is to provide up-to-date information regarding the Building Expansion project.  The building permit has been issued and the contractor has submitted his final pricing.  We will summarize the activities of the past 8 months and where we stand today. This is a VERY IMPORTANT information meeting.  Please plan to attend.

It is possible we will also discuss the pledge drive. The committee meets this evening.

The Board is calling a CONGREGATIONAL MEETING FOR APRIL 14, 2019, after the service (11:30 a.m.). The meeting will be in the Beacon sanctuary.  This meeting may be necessary to move forward with the Building Expansion project; also it may be necessary to discuss and possibly act on certain budgetary items at that time.

There are important decisions that need to be made, coming together at about the same time.  Please be patient and stay informed through the newsletter and announcements at Sunday services.

~ Yoga at Beacon ~

After nearly three years of offering yoga classes at Beacon, April will be the last month of Tuesday classes, led by me. I am well, and making plans for summer travel and space for a new phase of life.

I'm grateful to the many people from Beacon and the community who have attended yoga, for the friendship and community that has emerged through weekly yoga practice, and your support of my teaching has been a true blessing. Of course, an extra benefit is that half of the proceeds from these classes has been contributed to Beacon, a liberal and open faith community.

One option to keep yoga going at Beacon is to identify another or other yoga teachers in town who may be interested in teaching in our space. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please contact April in the office.

Yoga will be held the five Tuesdays in April, at the usual time, 11 am - 12:30 pm. It's a joy to practice yoga with you - and as always join in at any time.

Namaste - Cassie
