~ Upcoming Workshop: Anatomy of Trust ~
Sunday, October 14, 11:30 am at Beacon with Nancy Paxton

Did you miss the workshop on trust that the Committee on Shared Ministry offered last year? Would you like a reminder about how to improve trust in yourself, your family, your friends, your community at Beacon and beyond? If you want to learn more, please plan to attend a one-hour workshop led by Nancy Paxton and Mark James, on Sunday, Oct. 14, in the Purple Room, at 11:30, following the Worship Service. We will begin with a screening of BrenĂ© Brown's inspiring short talk, "The Anatomy of Trust," followed by a brief discussion of your experiences of trust and why it is an important value at Beacon.

Are you troubled by the endless examples of trust betrayed that appear almost daily in the news? Are you distressed by the constant warnings about fake news in print, on the network news, or in social media?  Did you come of age hearing the slogan, "Don't trust anyone over 30"? Many of us have experienced personal or institutional betrayals, and we often find it difficult to rebuild trust in ourselves, members of our family, friends, or community. If you are new to Beacon, missed this workshop last year, or want a refresher, we cordially invite you to attend this short video and share your experiences and views of trust. We had a very enriching and informative discussion last year, and we think this workshop will provide lots of valuable insights for you too. Snacks will be provided.
