For the longest time, the people of Sion village lived without electricity. Their only option is to use diesel generators and car batteries, which are costly in the long run. Poorer families can only afford to use oil lamps and candles.

The Solar for Sion project brings a ray of hope to the villagers who have struggled for years with energy poverty.
Global Peace in collaboration with Deutsche Bank kick-started their Born to Be partnership, Deutsche Bank’s youth engagement programme.

The one-year youth empowerment programme for Orang Asli children in Janda Baik encourages them to explore their potential in sports and arts and crafts, and develop important life skills.

We are kicking off a shoe donation drive as most of the children do not have shoes and go barefoot for our workshops and outdoor activities. Here's how you can help:

  • Drop off sports shoes for ages 4-17 that are still in good condition at our office
  • Make a monetary donation for the purchase of sports shoes (please email a copy of the bank transaction to [email protected])

A pair of shoes would help in keeping these kids safe from injuries and parasitic worms infections from going barefoot in grassy and muddy ground. Our donation drive ends May 20th!
During the recent heatwave, the Orang Asli villages struggled with wells drying up and the sweltering heat. With water being a precious and scarce commodity, the dry season is a serious threat to their lives.
