WELCOME BACK PARTY
Friday, September 20 (rain or shine!)

Please join us for our annual, all school, welcome back party on Friday, September 20 from 5:30-7:30 (on the covered and uncovered black top areas near the gym). RAIN OR SHINE.

Please note there will be no meal sales at the door. As this event is NOT a fundraiser, each person must pay in advance to ensure adequate portions for all.

New this year, in an effort to help families meet other families in your grade, we will have colorful balloons at tables. Kindergarten families can gather at the red table, 1st grade at the orange, 2nd grade at the yellow, 3rd grade at the green, 4th grade at the blue, 5th grade at the purple. Come and join us to see!

Food: Build your own taco (choose from bean, chicken, or steak).

When purchasing, please choose your ticket option carefully:

* Families with 1-4 people, use the "Single Ticket" option at $10 per ticket.
* Families of 5+ people, use the "Family Ticket" option and SPECIFY the total number of tickets needed in the "Additional Notes" field (maximum of 6 tickets). This is for FAMILIES ONLY (not neighbors, friends, etc.) $45 for a family ticket.

You can purchase tickets online when you complete your first day packet.

You may also purchase tickets by filling out this paper form   ( also available at the office) and returning it via kid mail.

We are also looking for volunteers to assist us before, during and after the event. Click here to sign up for a slot. Thank you!

ANNUAL BEAGLE CONTRIBUTION

Norman Rockwell PTA has one primary fundraiser per year through our Annual Beagle Contribution

The amount of your support will determine which additional education programs and activities (such as STEM Night and the School Musical) will be funded. Click here to see how programs are determined based on funding.

Thanks so much to those of you who have already donated! We really appreciate your generosity and support.

If you'd like to help us achieve full funding by September 30 (this is always our goal!), the time to act is NOW.

Working for Microsoft, Google, Boeing, etc? Be sure to ask about getting your donation matched! Click here to learn more. This is free money for our kids!

Thank you!

A NOTE FROM THE COUNSELOR

Welcome back Beagle families!

I am excited to be back at Rockwell this year to continue supporting our Rockwell students and families. For those that don't know me, my name is Kristin Bauer and I am the school counselor. When I explain my job to kids, I tell them that it is my job to help kids solve problems. While that is an important part of my job, there are lots of aspects of being a school counselor:
  • Connect families with school and community resources
  • Teach social-emotional learning lessons in all classrooms
  • Check in with individual students to support social, emotional and academic success
  • Lead students in small groups to practice and learn important life skills
  • Collaborate with teachers to support students within the classroom
  • Meet with students together to mediate and solve problems

The most important part of my job is to provide support for all students and families. To further this work, each month in the Beagle Bugle I will be including a link to the Home & School Connection newsletter. This newsletter gives parents practical tips on how they can continue to nurture kindness, respect and responsibility while supporting their child's education. This month's newsletter provides tips for getting out the door on time (as a mom of twins, I know that the struggle is real!) as well as the ABC's of school success (Attend every day, Be organized, Check in daily). Check out those articles and more in the September newsletter  here and enjoy this first month back at school!

Take care,
