2018 Rockwell Halloween Parade
Wednesday, October 31 @ 12:55pm
The Rockwell Halloween parade tradition continues!
This year's parade will be on Wednesday, October 31, at 12:55 PM.
As always, please let us know if your child will not be participating in the Halloween parade, so we may plan a fun, alternate activity.
All students are welcome to participate in the parade and to bring their costumes to school for the event. All costumes must follow regular school dress rules and should not be too violent or scary (please remember we have students as young as 5 years old at our school). No weapons are allowed at school, real or pretend, at any time. Please remember that students should be able to put their costumes on over regular clothes, and that teachers and staff will not be able to assist students in changing. More information about the event will be shared in the PTA Beagle Bugle and Rockwell School Newsletters.

HELP MAKE TRICK OR TREATING FUN FOR ALL!
As Halloween is right around the corner, we want to make sure that
all children can enjoy their Trick or Treating experience. Please keep the following in mind as you great Trick or Treaters at your door on Halloween:
-the child that is grabbing more than one piece of candy may have poor fine motor skills,
-the child that takes forever to pick out a piece of candy may have motor planning issues,
-the child that does not say trick or treat or thank you may be non-verbal,
-the child that looks disappointed when they see your bowl might have an allergy or is diabetic,
-the child that is not wearing a costume at all might have a sensory issue or autism.
Thanks for helping make this a fun event that all kids can enjoy!

READ-A-THON
begins November 5
This year we are holding a Read-a-Thon fundraiser!
We schedule this every year to compliment and supplement our main fundraiser of the Annual Beagle Contribution (ABC) that many of you contributed to at the start of the school year.
Our Read-a-Thon will start on
Monday, November 5th. The neat thing about our Read-a-Thon is that its primary focus is on encouraging reading and building literacy skills. Also, it is a great way for parents to supplement their ABC especially if their company does not have a matching program. Finally, the Read-a-Thon is a great way for other family members like grandparents or even friends of the family to donate money that will directly support your child's academic enrichment programs at Rockwell.
Fun Prizes will be offered for two categories: "Minutes Read" and "Donations".
More information will be coming home with your children on Friday. Look for how to sign-up your kids and take advantage of this fun program!
