Course Registration

Course registration for the Class of 2026 is Friday, April 21. Be sure to meet with your academic adviser and (if you've declared) your primary major advisor prior to Friday, April 21 so that you can register at your assigned time.

Consider submitting a nomination for the faculty, staff, and student leaders who positively impacted your first year at WashU.

What to do in the Lou

Missouri Botanical Gardens: April 8, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Join your peers in the Class of 2026 in exploring the Missouri Botanical Gardens! Student Transitions & Family Programs will be taking first-year students to the Missouri Botanical Gardens on Saturday, April 8. Buses will leave from the Alumni House Parking Lot at 12:00 PM and will return to campus no later than 3:00 PM. Sign up to reserve your spot! 


Community Events:

Tower Grove Farmer's Market Opening Day: April 8, 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM

The Tower Grove Farmer's Market takes place every Saturday from April -November. Check out local fresh food and unique art and wares. Each week, a free, drop-in yoga class is offered at 9:30 AM at the market.


Soccer City Exhibit Opening Day at Missouri History Museum: April 8, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Check out the new free exhibit, Soccer City, and learn more about the St. Louis region's historical ties to soccer. St. Louis Olympian Lori Chalpuny and Benito, Club Atletico’s mascot, will cut the ribbon, followed by dance, step teams, and musical performances.


Earth Day Festival: April 22-23, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Enjoy food, music, and activities at the Muny Grounds in Forest Park while learning about sustainability efforts in St. Louis and what you can do to make a difference.


Chinese Culture Days at Missouri Botanical Garden: April 22-23

Immerse yourself in awe-inspiring Chinese cultural performances, music, art, and history while enjoying authentic cuisine at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

What's Happening on Campus This Month

First-Year Student Nights at Athletics

Student Transitions & Family Programs will continue partnering with Athletics to highlight our spring semester varsity athletes! Attend two or more highlighted events and earn your choice of a WashU crewneck or a WashU bucket hat! Sign up to attend events in April and check the STFP Instagram regularly for information about future events. 


ThurtenE Carnival: April 14-16

The nation’s largest and oldest student-run carnival will be opening its gates to the public and the WashU community. Enjoy tasty food, amusement rides, games, and performances. This event is free and takes place along Forsyth Blvd near Simon Hall.


Spring Ensemble Annual Concert: April 19, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Join us for the first Chinese traditional music concert at WashU, held in Tisch Commons! Traditional instruments such as guzheng, erhu, and pipa will be performed. Stay for a Q&A after the show to learn more about the instruments.


First Year Finale: April 27, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

First Year Finale is a celebration of the completion of your first year at WashU! It is Thursday, April 27 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on the Swamp on the South 40. There will be free Pappy’s BBQ and lemonade, giveaways, music, and a photo booth! Additionally, the people who helped make your first year a success will be recognized. Submit a nomination for the faculty, staff, and student leaders who impacted your first year at WashU. The deadline for nominations is Saturday, April 15 at 11:59 PM. Winners will be announced on the Student Transitions & Family Programs’ Instagram, @washutransitions, from Monday, April 24 to Thursday, April 27.


2023 Day of Dialogue and Action: April 27, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Since 2015, the WashU community has come together annually to engage in dialogue and hear from keynote speakers and panelists. This event will be held in Emerson Auditorium. Learn more and register for the event.

Department Debrief: WashU Rec

WashU Rec provides recreational facilities and programming throughout the semester to students that is either free or at a low cost. It is never too late to get involved at the Rec through participating in fun programs through April, joining our student staff to work at the Rec, or relaxing with our mind/body offerings.


Examples of available programs are Cooking Around the World which is a free cooking class series, Bear Adventure trips that help students explore fun things to do around the St. Louis area at a low cost, relaxation chairs that can be reserved for 20 minutes at no cost to help students have a quiet moment during the end of the semester, intramural sports, and BearFit classes.
