LWSD offers the following sports during season 2 (10/28 – 12/20):

If your child is interested in a season 2 sport, click this link to login, create an account, and complete all forms and payment, by  this Friday, October 11 th .
 
Students must use their LWSD email account to create a Final Forms account and complete their online paperwork as well.

WA State PTSA Annual Legislative Assembly
You are invited to attend and represent Redmond Middle School PTSA at the State PTSA Annual Legislative Assembly on October 26 th and October 27 th (Yes, on Diwali) at Bellevue College. Our PTSA can send eight members to serve as voting delegates so the goal is to make sure every eligible vote counts. Remember, students can be members too!

If you have an opinion, have the time, and like to get into the details of policy decisions and priorities, then this is the event for you!

PTSA Reflections Art Program Call For Entries
Grizzlies are kind honest, proud, and CREATIVE! What's Reflections? It's the National PTA arts recognition program for young artists. Each year, the Reflections Program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme. The program has six categories - dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. Entry forms and rules for the 2019-2020 program with the theme, "Look Within", are now available on the RMS PTSA Reflections website .

Start creating now! The submission deadline for RMS is Monday, October 28 by 2:50 PM. Submissions may be dropped off in the RMS Library. Email [email protected] or visit the Reflections website for more info.

Science Club Reminders
RMS Science Club Registration is now closed. If you have paid, you should have received a confirmation of registration email from the club chair by October 4th. If for some reason you have not received the email, it is possible that there might have been an error in the email address entered. Please send an email to  [email protected] , so we can help you resolve the issue.

RMS Science Olympiad Internal testing  will be held this Saturday, October 11 th , from 10am-1 pm, in RMS Commons. Please arrive at 9:45am sharp to get signed in:
10-11 am – Physics-Chemistry
11am-12pm Earth Science
12-1pm – Life Science

Weekly Learning sessions have started since October 1 st
Visit the  Science Club webpage  to learn more about individual competitions, weekly learning sessions, as well as details about internal testing for Science Olympiad. Additional surveys will be sent for each individual competition by the respective competition managers. We're looking forward to a wonderful year of science and discovery. Join RMS Humanities Club
RMS Humanities Club will be starting after school on Tuesdays but will not meet every week. Notification of exact meeting dates will be in the morning announcements.The club is for all 6-8 th  graders who wish to participate in Model United Nations or National History Day. Students should  click here to fill out an interest survey . Note: Students are the only ones who can reply to the survey. Direct any questions to  Mrs. Kernish  for MUN and  Ms. Read  for NHD. Math Club News - AMC Enrollment
AMC 8 is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12th from 2:50-3:30pm, in the Red Cedar Pod. If you are interested and would like to enroll your students, please fill out the signup form. For details about the event, please visit the Math Club home page.
Spelling Bee is Coming to RMS!
RMS will be hosting a school spelling bee, early next year. The process will begin with a written preliminary round in January, followed by the final spelling bee in February. The winner will then proceed to the Seattle Regional Bee and will also have the option to participate in the national spelling bee in Washington DC. This is a great way to build vocabulary! The list of words will be made available within a few weeks. Stay tuned for more information.
