Curriculum Night/Open house

Study Lab
City of Redmond to provide students a supportive spot to get help with their school work is up and running.  On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday’s students can stay after school and get help from City of Redmond staff in the school library from 2:40 - 3:30 p.m. On Wednesdays, students can stay from 1:10 - 3:00 p.m. and staff will support this. On Wednesday’s school is providing a shuttle bus that stops at Einstein Elementary, Avondale at the walk path (9301 Avondale) and Avondale and 180 th  Ave. If your student could use some extra support, encourage them to stay.
SBA Results
Results from Smarter Balanced Assessments available in Parent Access. Downloadable score reports for SBA are currently in Skyward Family Access. Paper copies of the reports have been received from OSPI and will be sent home via US Mail to all families by the end of September. 
Directions to access the reports:
  1. To access your child’s scores click on the Skyward Family Access link on the district website.
  2. Log in to Skyward Family Access with your username and password.
  3. Click on the PORTFOLIO tab. Note: There is also a Test Scores tab that will provides scores; however, you can view the actual full score report in Portfolio.
  4. Under a tab with your child’s first name, click on each test result that you want to view.
Science results will be posted to Skyward Family Access by the end of September. More information about state testing can be found   here .
Free Breakfast @ School in September
Lake Washington School district is offering free breakfast in September for students in grades K-8. Whose schools serve breakfast? Redmond Middle School serves breakfast so let’s make breakfast a habit this month. This includes breakfast after the bell.

Can’t find the form? Next week your student will bring home a 10 Reasons Why short form. If you’re not certain about the status of your membership you can log in to the website rmsptsa.org with your email address and review your order/print receipts. Highly Capable Program / Quest
L WSD applications for Highly Capable programs start October 1 through 4 p.m. on October 26, 2018. Parents of first-grade students attending LWSD schools should not apply during this application period. LWSD first-grade students are screened for Highly Capable Programs in November in their general education classroom.

To increase student access to KCLS’s online resources, LWSD participates in the KCLS Partnership Program. The special online accounts allow students to seamlessly log in from school, home or from any computer or device to access KCLS resources. Read more..
Washington State 2018 Healthy Youth Survey
Our district is participating in the Washington State 2018 Healthy Youth Survey during fall 2018. RMS will administer on October 16, 2018.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous. details here

FREE College Essay Workshop
