Spelling Bee & Religion Bowl

Congratulations to Irene A. for representing St. Monica in the Diocesan Spelling Bee. You were amazing!

Congratulations to our Religion Bowl Team (5th: Matthew H.; 6th: Holden G.; Amerie E.; & 8th: Isaiah M.) for representing St. Monica this week at the annual Catholic Schools Week Religion Bowl. So proud of all our Bearcats!

Souper Bowl Spirit Dress

Pre-K-8th and Staff earned a Spirit Dress Day on Wednesday, February 7th!

Everyone met or exceeded their goals. Make sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram accounts for our final tallies on food collected.

Spirit Dress Guidelines

Students are allowed to wear jeans, school slacks, school skirts/skorts, or school shorts with a St. Monica t-shirt (no jerseys) of their choosing. Students may also wear hoodies but it must be a St. Monica hoodie. Students may wear any closed-toe and closed-heel shoes with white socks with or without logos.

St. Monica Endowment Trust Scholarships Are Open

The St. Monica Endowment Trust offers numerous scholarships each year to current and newly admitted students. Scholarships are awarded based on Financial Need, Academic Standing, Community Service, and Fine Arts (Visual and Performing Arts). Scholarship applications and all supporting documents are due by

Friday, March 22nd at 5:00 PM

The Jethsuby Scholarship Fund

The Catholic Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for The Jethsuby Scholarship Fund for the 2024-2025 school year. The fund will provide scholarships of up to 50% of the in-parish tuition rate, depending on financial need, to Hispanic students attending or planning to attend a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Dallas.

Eligibility requirements for the award include:

Hispanic ethnicity and at least one parent must have been born outside the United States
For students entering 1^st thru 8^th grade
Excellent academic performance.
Demonstrable financial need. (FACTS)
The student is not receiving financial aid from any other source, such as a diocesan scholarship, or a parish/staff tuition discount.

Documentation needed:

School transcript.
Principal/Teacher recommendation letter.
Parish pastor’s recommendation.
FACTS application submitted via the Diocese by February 19^th.

DI Regionals

Our ST. MONICA DESTINATION IMAGINATION TEAMS will compete in their regional tournament this Saturday with hundreds of DISD and private school students. They have been working since September on their challenge solutions for this creative problem-solving organization.
