We loved seeing all of the sweet Valentine’s Day celebrations across campus last week. From classroom parties to smiling faces, it was a joyful reminder of the love and community that make St. Monica such a special place.

As we enter the season of Lent, we invite our students and families to take time for prayer, reflection, and preparation of our hearts. We are especially looking forward to Stations of the Cross with our students every Friday. It is such a meaningful way for them to grow in faith and understanding during this sacred season.

As a reminder, the church will be locked during our school Stations of the Cross (2:15PM), just as it is for all school Masses. For the safety of everyone, parents attending all school Masses or Stations are asked not to open the doors for others once they have been locked. Thank you for helping us maintain a secure and prayerful environment.

The Jethsuby Scholarship Fund

The Catholic Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for The Jethsuby Scholarship Fund for the 2026-2027 school year. The fund will provide scholarships of up to 50% of the in-parish tuition rate, depending on financial need, to Hispanic students attending or planning to attend a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Dallas.

Eligibility requirements for the award include:

Hispanic ethnicity and at least one parent must have been born outside the United States
For students entering 1^st through 8^th grade
Excellent academic performance.
Demonstrable financial need. (FACTS)
The student is not receiving financial aid from any other source, such as a diocesan scholarship or a parish/staff tuition discount.

Documentation needed:

School transcript.
Principal/Teacher recommendation letter.
Parish pastor’s recommendation.
FACTS application submitted via the Diocese by February 23rd.

Scholarships are awarded based on Financial Need, Academic Standing, Community Service, Fine Arts (Visual and Performing Arts), and STEAM.
