Thank you for an amazing Catholic Schools Week! We loved seeing all the parents at lunchtime and other events throughout the week. A huge shoutout to the PTO for organizing all these wonderful activities, the amazing staff luncheon, and of course all of our fabulous volunteers. Our community is what truly makes

The Great History Challenge
Congratulations to Derek S., Vanessa S., Case W., Matthew R., Xavier H., Holland R., Charles D., Michael R., Archie P., William B., and Patrick S. for not only competing in The Great History Challenge regional competition, but for also qualifying for the National Championship in
Chicago, IL!! The National Championship will take place May 24-26.

Students and staff may wear an appropriate Valentine's 's-themed or SMS shirt with jeans or uniform bottoms.

On Wednesday, February 14th, PK-8th grade will attend a Liturgy of the Word at 9:45AM in the church. All students will receive ashes at this time.The 9:45AM Liturgy of the Word is for the school only.

Maintenance Appreciation Week
The Junior Catholic Daughters of America are collecting monetary donations in advance of their annual Maintenance Staff Appreciation Day. The funds will be distributed directly to St. Monica Catholic School and Church maintenance staff as a gift expressing our appreciation for their service on behalf of the entire St. Monica community. KofC Lenten Dinners 
Every Friday night during Lent in the St. Monica Family Center. Doors open at 6:30pm. Price per person is $12/adult and $6/children. Look for the Lenten Dinner link on kofc5656.org
St. Monica Endowment Trust Scholarships Are Open
The St. Monica Endowment Trust offers numerous scholarships each year to current and newly admitted students. Scholarships are awarded based on Financial Need, Academic Standing, Community Service, and Fine Arts (Visual and Performing Arts). Scholarship applications and all supporting documents are due by
Friday, March 22nd at 5:00 PM
The Jethsuby Scholarship Fund
The Catholic Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for The Jethsuby Scholarship Fund for the 2024-2025 school year. The fund will provide scholarships of up to 50% of the in-parish tuition rate, depending on financial need, to Hispanic students attending or planning to attend a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Dallas.
Eligibility requirements for the award include:
  • Hispanic ethnicity and at least one parent must have been born outside the United States
  • For students entering 1st thru 8th grade
  • Excellent academic performance.
  • Demonstrable financial need. (FACTS)
  • The student is not receiving financial aid from any other source, such as a diocesan scholarship, or a parish/staff tuition discount.
Documentation needed:
  • School transcript.
  • Principal/Teacher recommendation letter.
  • Parish pastor’s recommendation. 
  • FACTS application submitted via the Diocese by February 19th.
