Bilingual Mass of Thanksgiving for Pope Leo XIV

With joy and gratitude, we invite you to a Bilingual Mass of Thanksgiving celebrating the election of our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.

🗓 Date: Friday, May 9th

🕕 Time: 6:00 PM

📍 Location: St. Monica Catholic Church

Together, we thank God for the gift of new leadership in the Church. The Mass will be celebrated in English and Spanish, uniting our community in faith and hope for the future.

All are welcome to share in this special celebration!

MICHELLE A. MENDEZ LIFETIME SERVICE AWARD

Nominations are due by Saturday, May 10th

Inspired by her dedication to service,

the Michelle A. Mendez Lifetime Service Award

was created in an effort to recognize a current 8th grade parent who shares her

passion for serving others. In order to ensure every consideration is made,

nominations from the community will be carefully considered. The following

criteria will assist in determining the candidate’s eligibility for the award.



The nominee must:

• Be a parent or guardian of a current 8th grade student
• Volunteer his or her time, talent, and treasure by serving any organization within the school, church, or greater community
• Lead by example, representing the virtues of St. Monica herself

Attention 1st-9th Grade Students: BBM Summer Scholars Tutoring

BBM Summer Scholars is an in-home tutoring program founded by Bankston Ernst (SMS Alumni) and two other Jesuit students. It is designed to help 1st-9th grade students strengthen their math and reading skills over the summer. We offer one-on-one Math and English tutoring sessions, with flexible scheduling and discounted bundle packages available. Our tutors travel to students' homes, providing focused instruction to help them excel in Math and English.

DPL Golf Tournament

Monday, June 9th

Brookhaven CC - President's Course

The DPL offers a student golf tournament for athletes in grades 5 through 8. The tournament is a Scramble format played in 1 day. Teams are comprised of male and/or female athletes in the same grade or mixed. Awards are given to the top three foursomes for low scores based on grades and the total low score for the tournament. 

The tournament will play as a 9-hole 4-man scramble with grades 5/6 on the front nine, and 7/8 on the back 9. The tournament fills on a first-come, first-served basis. The league will not accept a form without both chaperones listed.

The tournament will close after 30 foursomes have registered, or on May 12.
