A heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTO for putting together another absolutely amazing Autumnfest! From start to finish, it was a beautiful day filled with fun, laughter, and community. Thank you also to our Dads’ Club and every single parent volunteer who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success. We could not do it without you!

We also want to extend a huge thank you to Julie Mills, our wonderful student ambassadors, and all the parents and staff who helped make Preview Day such a fantastic experience for our incoming families. Your warmth and enthusiasm are a true reflection of the St. Monica community!

How does St. Monica provide Dyslexia Support?

Academic Language Therapy for Students with Dyslexia using Take Flight.

St. Monica's three therapists: Marianne Telepak, Missy Hayes, & Debi Salazar

Students who have been formally diagnosed with dyslexia receive specialized academic language therapy through the Take Flight program, developed by Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia is a research-based curriculum created by experts at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders. It builds on the proven success of earlier programs such as Alphabetic Phonics, the Dyslexia Training Program, and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital Literacy Program.

Take Flight is delivered by trained dyslexia therapists. The program helps students strengthen essential reading skills-like word recognition, fluency, and comprehension -and supports their transition from therapy sessions to success in the classroom.

Our goal is to empower students with dyslexia by giving them the tools and strategies they need to thrive academically and confidently.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month!
