There will be no school next Friday, November 1. This is the last day for elementary parent conferences and is also a professional learning day for staff. Contact your child’s campus to set up a conference time next week.

🎶 Marching Band Set for Area Contest Saturday 🍭

Our Sherman High School Marching Band will perform their outstanding competition show, “Dreamers of Dreams,” on Saturday at the Area B Marching Contest at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium in Melissa. Their performance is set for 11 a.m. No cash tickets will be available at the gate. Get your tickets now at the link below!

Their performance at the region contest this past Saturday earned straight 1s from the judges - the 35th consecutive year for SHS to achieve this level of excellence! Congratulations and good luck to our students and directors!

🎃 Join SHS for Spooky Fun at Trunk or Treat! 🍫

Join Sherman High School's National Honor Society and Student Council next Tuesday, October 29 for their annual Trunk or Treat event! There will be costumes, games and LOTS of candy for all the little ghouls and goblins in the back parking lot of Sherman High School from 5:30-7 p.m. We'll see you there!

NYT Best-Selling Author Inspires SHS Sophomores at Author Fest

New York Times best-selling author E. Lockhart spoke to Sherman High School sophomores today for this year's Author Fest! The sophomore English classes had been assigned to read Lockhart's novel "We Were Liars," and she gave a presentation over how she forms her writing style and how it relates to the novel. Afterwards, she took questions from students and even gave a few tips for aspiring authors in the audience! Lockhart will give a public presentation tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Sherman Public Library.

Event Connects Families with Special Education Resources

Sherman ISD and regional partners will be hosting the Connecting the Dots Expo which connects students with disabilities and their families to valuable community resources this Saturday, October 26. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sherman High School and will feature breakout sessions addressing different topics and disabilities.

The annual Sherman Education Foundation fundraiser is happening now at all SISD elementary and middle schools! This year, the savings "card" is all digital using MoneyDolly -- making it easier for students to sell and for you to save later! 🎭 SHS Theatre Prepares for Fall Show

Mark your calendar! The Sherman High School Theatre Department will bring Rock of Ages: Teen Edition to the Bearcat stage November 15-17 – tickets are on sale NOW!

Rock of Ages: Teen Edition takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical features the hits of bands including Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister and others. (Concord Theatricals)

Are you a Sherman resident 55 years or older who wants to see the future of Sherman ISD schools? Join us for the annual SISD Silver Cats tour on Friday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.! This year’s tour will visit all three of the ongoing elementary school construction sites. Space is limited, so sign up today!

The ax has been engraved with the 126th Battle of the Ax score, officially commemorating our unforgettable 31-13 victory over Denison! Our SHS football coaches – several of them Bearcat alumni – delivered the ax today to Awards Unlimited in Sherman, which has been carving the ax since the 1980s with game scores. We are proud to have the ax back home in Sherman, and for our students and coaches to have this special place in Bearcat history! 🐾

Congratulations to the Sherman Middle School football teams on their wins against Piner Middle this week! 7th grade boys finished 30-6 and 8th grade boys won the game with a 30-yard field goal with a score of 16-15. We loved seeing all our Bearcats battle it out on the field!

Round up the kiddos and head to beautiful, historic Downtown Sherman to join Sherman Main Street & Sherman Parks and Recreation for the 10th Annual Trick or Treat on Travis Street!

This free, public event will be outside and booths will line Travis Street from Wall to Lamar, and around Courthouse Square on Houston and Crockett.

Join Texoma Medical Center for the Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.! Kids of all ages can bring their favorite stuffed animals for a check-up and learn about first aid. There will also be stations for kids to create cards for patients.

Basketball registration for Sherman Youth Sports Association is open now! Players and prospective coaches can sign up now through November 15!

The Texoma Soccer Association is accepting applications for Spring 2025 soccer October 19 through December 15!
