SHS Hosts Career Expo For Local Companies And Bearcat Seniors

Sherman High School seniors had the chance to make that first impression with local company representatives today during the Career Expo. Companies discussed opportunities available to graduates as well as unique programs offered, and students talked with current professionals in the field.

The Grayson County Spelling Bee on Tuesday proved to be a bit of a “marathon” for Sherman Middle School student Rosanna Kim, but with her sharp “lexicon”, she made her way with “pristine” spelling to be an alternate for the televised Dallas Regional Spelling Bee.
Sherman ISD celebrated National School Counseling Week byrecognizing professional school counselors for the important role they play in the lives of students.

Elementary schools and early childhood centers across Sherman ISD last week celebrated the 100th day of school. Some campuses saw teachers and students dress up as 100-year-old people or have 100 of something on their clothes, and others did activities or presentations to learn more about the number.

Sherman High School hosted the Texas Association of Community Schools (TACS) Academic Challenge for the first time ever Monday, sending a team to the State Contest in February.

Bearcats Ink Collegiate Agreements on National Signing Day
Sherman High School seniors joined thousands of others on National Signing Day Feb. 2 in inking agreements to play collegiate sports, a moment met with excitement.
Eight athletes across five sports penned their signature to play at a higher level, and while some are staying right here in Sherman, a few are going a little further from home.

SHS Baseball Launches All-New Canopy Cats Program for Elementary Students
Registration is open for children kindergarten through fifth grade to join the new Canopy Cats program. By signing up, Canopy Cats and their parents will have free admission to Varsity Bearcat Baseball home games, on-field access before home games to participate in the national anthem, a Canopy Cats T-shirt, personalized Bearcat Trading Card and photo opportunities with players.
