Sherman ISD Celebrates Hope Week

Campuses across Sherman ISD are celebrating Hope Week with fun, positive activities such as dress-up days, calming exercises and more!


Hope Week is a week-long initiative by school counselors and each school’s Hope Squad or Junior Hope Squad to raise awareness regarding mental health issues and foster a positive learning environment on campus. Students in each squad are trained to help support fellow students and assist with bullying and suicide prevention efforts.

Save the Date for Our Stadium Groundbreaking!

The community is invited to join Sherman ISD as we celebrate the kickoff of construction of our new multipurpose stadium at Sherman High School! The event is set for Thursday, Feb. 6 at 4:30 p.m. The new stadium is set to open in summer 2026.

Early Childhood Registration Begins Soon

It’s almost time to register your 3 or 4 year old for the 2025-26 school year! 


Sherman ISD offers full-day Early Head Start, Head Start and Pre-Kindergarten for free to those residing in Sherman ISD who meet age and eligibility requirements. These programs and services focus on building a strong foundation for our youngest learners while supporting their families in preparing for a bright future!


Start the application process on one of the following dates – staff will be available to assist with the online application:


  • Friday, February 14 from 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Sory 
  • Tuesday, March 25 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Neblett 
  • Saturday, March 29 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Neblett

Community Invited to Submit Nominations for Facility Naming

Sherman ISD is currently accepting nominations for the names of current and future facilities. The School Board may name facilities for a person; in honor of an historic event or place; a distinctive geographic location; or for a major donor. 


While community members may submit nominations for a facility name at any time, nominations should be received by tomorrow, January 24, 2025 in order to be considered for the new elementary school opening next fall at Heritage Ranch. 


A district committee will review nominations received and present them for consideration to the School Board, in accordance with Board policy.

SHS Cheer Tryouts Coming Soon

Attention future Bearcat cheerleaders! There is a mandatory parent meeting this Monday, January 27 at 7 p.m. for students wishing to tryout for SHS Cheer. Clinic dates are February 24, 25 and 27, and tryouts are February 28.

Middle School Cheer Tryout Meeting is This Monday

Don’t forget! There is a mandatory parent meeting for Sherman Middle School and Piner Middle School cheer tryouts on Monday, January 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the big gym at Piner! Attendance is required for tryout eligibility. Clinic dates are February 10-12, and tryouts will be on February 13.
