Join Your Campus for Open House!

Our middle school and early childhood campuses welcomed families this week for Open House! Be sure to join us for our remaining events to connect with your students’ teachers!


Elementary campuses (Crutchfield, Dillingham, Fairview, Neblett, Sory, Wakefield and Washington) will have their open house on Monday, October 7 from 5:30-7 p.m. The Boys & Girls Club will not meet on-site at Crutchfield, Fairview, Sory or Wakefield that day.


Sherman High School will hold their open house on Thursday, October 17 from 5:30-7 p.m.

That's a Wrap on Homecoming 2024!

Thank you to everyone for making Homecoming week a special one to remember! 🤩 The week began with a parade and community pep rally to kick off the excitement! Thanks to Tyson Foods and First United Bank for providing and preparing free hamburgers for everyone!


We met all of our incredible nominees for Homecoming King and Queen on Thursday at the Homecoming Revue. Everyone looked AMAZING!

Our Varsity Bearcats won BIG on Friday versus Frisco Centennial, 40-13! The night ended with the crowning of the 2024 Homecoming King and Queen, Josiah Okeri and Rosie Shashankar – congratulations!

Ex-Students Association Names Distinguished Students, Faculty

The Sherman Ex-Students Association named its 2024 Distinguished Students and Faculty at their yearly meeting held during Homecoming Week. Three students and two faculty were recognized by the association for their life accomplishments, as well as their continued dedication to leadership in the community.

Fabulous Field Trips Begin This Week

Sherman ISD was excited to kick off Fabulous Field Trips for the 2024-25 school year this week! Washington Elementary School students got to learn about all the resources provided at the Sherman Public Library 📚 -- and even got to take home a book to keep! Neblett Elementary School students visited the Sherman Animal Shelter to learn how important it is to adopt our fur-ever friends! 🐾

Progress on SHS Additions!

Big things are beginning at Sherman High School! Crews are moving dirt and making way for exciting new three-story additions to each side of campus. The 33,000 square foot-expansion will add 20 classrooms to increase capacity by about 525 students! The project is expected to be complete in fall 2025.

SHS to Administer PSAT on 10/9

Sherman High School sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT (Preliminary SAT) next Wednesday, October 9. The PSAT can help make student career goals and postsecondary paths clearer, as well as open doors to awards and scholarships later!


Make sure your student is well rested and arrives at school on time – testing will begin at 8:20 a.m. Students can prepare by reviewing the information in the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide or in additional practice online.

Event Connects Families with Special Education Resources

Sherman ISD and regional partners will be hosting the Connecting the Dots Expo which connects students with disabilities and their families to valuable community resources on Saturday, October 26. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sherman High School and will feature breakout sessions addressing different topics and disabilities.

Celebrating Dyslexia Awareness with Parent Night

Sherman ISD will host a free informational event for parents of students receiving dyslexia services next Tuesday, October 8 at 6 p.m. at Sherman High School. Come learn about the struggles students face every day with dyslexia as well as ways you can help support your child with dyslexia.

SHS Students Make All-Region Choir

Sherman High choir students had a long night in Princeton for the Region 25 All-Region Choir competition. The following singers moved up in the competition and will advance to Pre-Area as well as perform in concert at Allen High School on November 2:

Varsity volleyball dominated the court Tuesday and beat Denison 3-0! 🔥 They’ll face Lovejoy in their next district match on Friday at SHS. Go Cats!

Bass Fishing Makes Top 10

The Bearcat Bass Fishing team was out at Lake Ray Roberts last weekend and placed 9th out of 40 teams! Not a bad way to start the season! 🎣 Great job, Bearcats!

Community Opportunities

Is your 4th-6th grade child struggling to keep up in math or reading?


The Multicultural Family Center is offering free after school tutoring for students who need extra help with reading and math comprehension skills. Limited spaces are available!

The Boys & Girls Club of Sherman main site will be open, but transportation will not be provided for regular on-site campuses, so please plan accordingly.

Round up the kiddos and head to beautiful, historic Downtown Sherman to join Sherman Main Street & Sherman Parks and Recreation for the 10th Annual Trick or Treat on Travis Street!


This free, public event will be outside and booths will line Travis Street from Wall to Lamar, and around Courthouse Square on Houston and Crockett.

There will be costumes, games and LOTS of candy for all the little ghouls and goblins in the front parking lot of Sherman High School.
