SISD Celebrates Construction of New Elementary

in Heritage Ranch

Sherman ISD celebrated the kickoff of construction of our new elementary school in the Heritage Ranch development this week. Similar to the larger replacement schools for Crutchfield and Fairview, the new school will serve more than 700 students in grades K-5. All three schools will open for the 2025-26 school year. In addition, work is also starting this summer on a 33,000 square foot expansion to Sherman High School.

SISD Launches New Community Outreach Program

SISD is introducing a new program in the 2024-25 school year called Ambassador Academy to help educate and empower citizens regarding public education and issues facing Sherman ISD. The annual program will provide community members with a better understanding of the operations of the school district and create a foundation for active engagement and involvement.

“Sherman ISD is always looking for new ways to better inform parents and deepen our connections in the community,” said Amy Pesina, chief academic officer. “We want to encourage people to get involved, learn about the district and share that knowledge with others as ambassadors for Sherman ISD.”

SISD residents are invited to apply now through August 9 to join the inaugural class.
