Early Stadium Designs Presented For Feedback

Sherman ISD hosted our second meeting Monday night with the students, parents and community members assisting with planning for our new multi purpose stadium at Sherman High School. Committee members got a look at early conceptual designs and provided feedback to help determine the look and feel of the stadium. We will be providing an opportunity for the whole community to weigh in as the plans continue to develop!

Sherman Schools Host Red Ribbon Week

Sherman schools hosted Red Ribbon Week this week to raise awareness about drugs and emphasize the importance of making smart choices. At elementary schools, students had dress-up days and activities teaching them to live healthy lives with good habits, and at the middle and high schools, students learned about the dangers of fentanyl, a deadly synthetic opioid. A new state law requires fentanyl and drug abuse prevention instruction in grades 6-12.

SEF Grants Make a Difference in the Classroom

Members of the Sherman Education Foundation Board visited Piner today to see their giving in action. In band, they saw how caddies for students’ individual tuners are being used to make their tuners more functional and help students adjust their pitches. In science with Mr. Turk, the SEF Board saw the two aquariums they funded, complete with turtles and fish.

SEF has awarded a total of over $1.9 million over the years to help Sherman ISD educators provide an innovative and engaging curriculum. That includes more than $82,000 just this year. View the 2023 grant winners.
