There will be no school Friday, November 1. This is the last day for parent conferences and is also a professional learning day for staff. We will see your students back at school on Monday!

Exciting Events at Tonight’s Final Home Football Game!

Tonight is the last home game of the 2024 football season. We hope you join us to honor SHS seniors in football, cheer and athletic training, as well as recognize the 1964 Fred Douglass High School State Championship Team.

Since it is Halloween, we are aware of many who will be coming from Trick-Or-Treating, please note, for safety and security, costumes will be allowed from the neck down, but no face paint or masks will be allowed in the stadium.

Red Ribbon Week Promotes Drug Awareness

This week was Red Ribbon Week and students across the district engaged in discussions with teachers, counselors and police officers about the dangers of fentanyl, vaping and other drugs. From themed dress-up days to assemblies, our students learned about making safe choices, staying drug-free, and supporting a healthier, stronger community. Thank you to our dedicated staff for educating and inspiring our students to live drug-free!

Sherman FFA Excels at Local Show

Sherman FFA hosted its annual show and fundraiser the Halloween Spooktacular this past weekend, garnering ribbons and awards while putting their communication and leadership skills to the test. Now in its third year, close to 500 livestock projects were shown!

Texoma Promise Offers Free College Tuition

SHS seniors got a visit this week from Grayson College representatives who encouraged them to take the Texoma Promise pledge! The Texoma Promise is a partnership between area school districts, Grayson College and universities like University of North Texas and Texas Tech University, meant to expand access to higher education. For many students, it offers “last dollar” scholarships, which covers all tuition costs, if they meet certain income requirements. We’re proud of our seniors for their commitment to continuing their education!

SHS Brings Halloween Fun to Trunk or Treat

Thank you to Sherman High School's National Honor Society and Student Council for putting on an amazing Trunk or Treat event this week! We loved seeing all the creative costumes and everyone’s smiling faces!

Crutchfield Students Explore Possible Careers

This week, students at Crutchfield Elementary School experienced Career Day! They explored various professions and learned from local businesses like Aphrodite Divine Confections, Bros House of Fades, CORE Construction, Grayson College, Just Peachy Nails & Lashes and more! We are grateful for our local business partners and volunteers who invest in our students' futures, inspiring them to dream big and explore new possibilities!

🎭 SHS Theatre Prepares for Fall Show

Mark your calendar! The Sherman High School Theatre Department will bring Rock of Ages: Teen Edition to the Bearcat stage November 15-17 – tickets are on sale NOW!

Rock of Ages: Teen Edition takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical features the hits of bands including Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister and others. (Concord Theatricals)

Piner Middle School and Sherman Middle School tennis competed this week at Sherman High School! It's the first season of fall tennis for both middle schools, reflecting the expanding opportunities for our Bearcats!

Congratulations to the Piner 8th Grade A Volleyball team for an undefeated regular season! They faced Southard Middle School in Princeton for their final district game, 25-19 and 25-18.

Join Texoma Medical Center for the Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.! Kids of all ages can bring their favorite stuffed animals for a check-up and learn about first aid. There will also be stations for kids to create cards for patients.

Basketball registration for Sherman Youth Sports Association is open now! Players and prospective coaches can sign up now through November 15!

The Texoma Soccer Association is accepting applications for Spring 2025 soccer October 19 through December 15!
