The cold last week didn't stop these two students from attending the SkillsUSA District 5 Competition over the weekend. Maddee Nunn and Mario Diaz had to campaign for student delegate votes, test their knowledge and take part in an interview to earn their positions as Secretary and Reporter, respectively. They will head to the State Competition March 31.
Joining them will be Ben Gardner, who was a Gold Medalist in Firefighting. The Firefighting contest was held at a different time and location due to its intensity. The contest evaluates the contestant’s preparation for firefighting careers through hands-on skill demonstrations and both written and oral presentations.
