Thanks to the generosity of the BEC and Operation Round Up Boards and generous member donations, the BEC Cares COVID-19 Emergency Assistance program is now formed to quickly mobilize electric bill payment credits to help ease the economic strain on BEC members.
The BEC Cares program is available to active BEC residential members who recently became unemployed, partially unemployed, or cannot work due to the COVID-19 emergency.
“We know this pandemic is deeply affecting many of our members, and we have been working since its start to ensure no one is without electricity, heat or hot water during this time,” said BEC General Manager Kevin P. Owens, PE. “We are in unprecedented times, and it will take continued partnership and creativity to help as many people as possible.”
Bill payment assistance is also available through numerous other assistance programs, including BEC’s Residential Home Energy Assistance program, Operation Round Up, and Montana and Wyoming’s LIEAP programs for income-eligible customers. BEC continues to offer payment plans for those members who may need additional assistance.
