Beat the Heat- Tips for a Cool Summer Wedding
Summer weddings are beautiful! There's a reason so many brides choose to marry in June. The weather is heating up and guests are ready to party. Keep yourself (and your guests!) happy and comfortable with some of the tips below.
Bridal Beauty
Make sure you're dressed for the heat! Think about a sleeveless dress that's light on fabric. If you prefer sleeves, maybe choose something light and airy like the gorgeous gown below from Studio I Do Bridals. Chat with your consultant about any hot weather concerns and allow her to steer you in the direction of something you'll be comfortable in!
Consider sweat-proofing your hair and makeup! Think about whether or not your curls can withstand the heat and humidity. An updo may be the best option. Any updos that require tons of volume may not withstand the heat either, so look for something sleek and smooth.

When it comes to makeup, ask your artist about a setting spray. Your makeup artist is equipped with the tools to have your makeup last all night. Discuss any heat concerns and have your artist help you choose the best type of makeup for the date.

Keep Guests Comfortable
Prioritize the comfort and safety of your guests. Chat with your wedding planner about any concerns regarding the heat. Think about serving water along with cocktails. Spruce it up by adding fresh fruit or mint! Serve it in fun glasses with pretty paper straws that match your style.
If you've got your heart set on an outdoor wedding- that's fine! Make sure that you have a shaded area that allows your guests to have a break from the sun. Look into renting portable AC units. Or, consider the best of both worlds! An indoor/outdoor venue gives the guests the option to cool off whenever they need to.

We're currently loving this beautiful indoor setup below, styled by Classy Event Rentals.
Chairs, chairs, chairs! Don't you love how planning a wedding allows you to think about so many details that you've never once considered before? If you're planning an outdoor ceremony and you're choosing metal chairs, make sure they're covered to avoid any burns!
A Hampton Roads Experience at The Water Table
Fortunately for your guests, Hampton Roads is the place to be in the summer. Who doesn't want to attend a wedding that could easily double as a beach vacation? Give your guests a taste of the beach life with a wedding at The Water Table.
One of the best parts about this sweet venue is the expansive view!

The venue overlooks the Rudee Inlet, which is a signature spot in Virginia Beach. The Virginia Beach oceanfront is stacked with great hotels, making the stay super convenient for your guests. The Water Table also boasts a huge dance floor with the venue capacity of 200 guests.

Another perk of the Rudee Inlet? It's a great spot for bridal photos!
