Don't Forget to Beat the Winter Blues!

Beat the Winter Blues returns on Saturday! This annual program offers a supportive space where residents can shake off seasonal sluggishness, share a smile and enjoy activities crafted to inspire joy, resilience, and togetherness.

The event features three workshops, beginning with gentle flow yoga followed by a discussion focused on achieving personal balance. Participants will learn positive coping strategies to address stressful situations in all aspects of life. The final workshop, Teen Speak, helps parents and caregivers improve communication and reduce common teen risk behaviors.

License Your Pets

Thank you to all the residents who licensed their pets and attended the free rabies clinic on Saturday. Licensing ensures the protection of pets, their owners, and members of the community against rabies and other communicable diseases. It also enables lost pets to be quickly reunited with their owners.

Online applications for annual dog and cat licenses are still open. Licensing can be completed at the next free rabies clinics on Saturday, Feb.21 at Otto Kaufman Community Center. Find more information on licensing here and contact the clerk’s office with questions at (908) 533-9188.

Stay Safe in Winter Weather

This is a reminder that Montgomery has an ordinance that prohibits on-street parking during snow emergencies. Please continue to park in driveways and off the street until all snow is cleared. We are expecting below freezing temperatures over the next week. Please remember to bundle up and only go outside when necessary. Be sure to check this list of preparedness reminders and sign up for emergency alerts ahead of impending snowstorms.

A special thank you to the dedicated members of the Montgomery Department of Public Works, Sewer, and Park and Recreation who cleared our roads after last weekend’s snowstorm. We are fortunate to have municipal employees who go above and beyond to guarantee residents can travel safely throughout our community.

The Montgomery Departments of Health and Planning have activated a community transportation needs survey to better understand how residents travel, where service gaps exist, and how we can improve mobility for everyone. Take the survey here.

Montgomery offers a convenient shopping trip shuttle for seniors in partnership with Somerset County. The free service includes curbside pickup, 1.5 hours of shopping at ShopRite or Kasia Market, and up to four grocery bags delivered to your home. Reserve your spot by calling (908) 231-7115.
