Pray with Us- Sr. Cheryl Mentkowski

As we Celebrate Thanksgiving each November, we find ourselves counting our blessings and giving thanks for the many gifts we enjoy. Yet it is also a time of remembrance as we pause to celebrate the feasts of All Saints and All Souls. This is the perfect opportunity to give thanks for all of those in our lives who are models of gratitude, faith, courage and kindness. Their examples are practical guidelines for how to live a life dedicated to love and service. It is also a time to reflect with gratitude on those who have gone before us in death. We remember with sadness our relatives, friends and colleagues, God’s gifts to us, who have left our lives a bit emptier by their departure, yet fuller and richer for their having shared their lives with us even for a short time.  Let us ask God to fill our hearts with gratitude for the many gifts we receive each day.
