Yavapai County Mountains-Northern Gila County- Yavapai County Valleys and Basins-Oak Creek and Sycamore Canyons- Including the cities of Prescott, Seligman, Ash Fork, Payson, Strawberry, Young, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Cordes Junction, Bagdad, and Sedona 1216 PM MST Thu Feb 14 2019 ... FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON... The Flood Watch continues for * Portions of Yavapai and Gila counties. This Flood Watch includes Oak Creek, Sycamore Creek, Granite Creek, Dry Beaver Creek, Wet Beaver Creek, West Clear Creek, Fossil Creek, Tonto Creek, East Verde Verde River, Verde River and Agua Fria River. * Through Friday afternoon * Periods of moderate to heavy rain will develop over Yavapai county early this morning and will move eastward through tonight. Some of the heaviest rain will fall over portions of northeastern Yavapai county and northern Gila county. In addition, snowpack in these areas will melt, adding to the potential for runoff. * Area creeks, streams, washes and rivers will begin to run high by this afternoon, peaking later tonight, or even Friday morning. Many larger waterways are forecast to reach or exceed flood levels. Larger waterways will continue to drain at or above flood levels well into Friday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch Means That Developing Conditions May Lead To Flooding Within The Watch area. People...especially those located along area creeks...rivers or other flood prone areas...should continue to monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action should flood warnings be issued.
