Dear Neighbors

Breaking Good News : We do not have to file IRS tax returns until July. It is suggested that if you are due a refund, file now for it. If you owe, then wait until July.
Food banks are still operating and plan to continue to serve the public. The Bread of Life Food Share will continue from 4:30 to 6 PM in Camp Verde every Tuesday and Friday as a drive-thru. The 7th Day Food Bank in Camp Verde plans to continue on Wednesday mornings as usual, the Kiwanis Clothes Closet Food Share will continue Wednesdays around lunch time as usual and the Food Share Popup at Beaver Creek Baptist Church will continue on the 4th Monday of each month which is March 23 at 9:45 AM. (See the Free Food Information section below).
Here are some messages from our friends:
"Beaver Creek Baptist Church has decided to suspend our Sunday morning worship services. We encourage people to observe the recommendations from the CDC.  While we will not be gathering for worship for a while, we are still part of our great community.  If you have a need that we might help with, call, 928-300-1260.  We have a number of members who have volunteered to run errands or help in any way they can." Pastor Ken Miller

"The Beaver Creek Public Library will provide curbside service during Library Business Hours." Closed to Public.  Modified services during normal business hours.  Reference available by phone or email.  Curbside hold pickups.  All events canceled.  Wi-Fi available outside library.   Beth Franklin, Library Coordinator, 4810 E Beaver Creek Rd, 928-567-4034.

"We have updated Supervisor Thurman's web page and are reaching out to communities and ask that you please share his page for future updates. We will try to combine information from our county departments and the state offices for your one stop information center for Eastern Yavapai County District 2."  Marlyn Van Keuren, Executive Assistant for Supervisor Thomas Thurman, 928-771-3393
Since there is much information on Supervisor Thurman's web page for small business employers and employees, it is a particularly good resource listing. For example:
In Yavapai County, NACOG has access to federal and state Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Dislocated Worker and Rapid Response funding to assist in a variety of ways:
  • NACOG and ARIZONA@WORK is a resource for your unpaid employees to reach out for assistance with Unemployment Insurance benefits and Temporary Employment Services. Register at Arizona Job Connection (AJC), and Unemployment Insurance, . NOTE - We recommend including a note Reason for Separation - "COVID-19".
  • NACOG also assists employers with Layoff Aversion strategies and resilience planning.
  • Dislocated Workers who have been separated from income have access to WOIA services due to COVID-19 layoffs, and we are working on temporary assignments that our clients can be placed in.
Employers:  If you are facing closure, please let your employees know that there are services at NACOG - please call the West County One Stop at (928)778-1422 or (928)308-4832, East County One Stop at (928)649-6867 or (928)649-6868, or visit our websites: and
