This year, for the first time, everyone in Morah Anne’s group got a bracelet! We did have one Guppy (Gavi!) and 17 Tadpoles! Every child in Morah Anne’s group showed their water competency by being able to blow bubbles and dive down to the bottom of the Guppy pool to retrieve a swim toy with their hands, not their feet!
This is, quite possibly, the most important of the water competency skills for pre- schoolers as everyone was able to get their face wet (a huge fear at this age). In fact, some were so excited, they kept diving under the water over and over again to show off their new skill (Barry B, Emma B, Emma W).
We were very pleased with each child’s progress. Please reinforce this skill throughout the year whenever you can - blowing bubbles in the tub is great practice. They do not have to completely submerge just get their full face in the water (mouth, nose and eyes). We are so proud of their accomplishments! Great job Morah Anne’s tadpoles!!
