Today, as a trial

garbage pickup will be at 6:00pm instead of the usual 3:00pm. This will give the residents an opportunity to dispose of their pre-Shabbos cooking garbage.

Sefarim Drive Update

The Sefarim Drive continues to raise funds to enhance and expand our Sifriah located in the Beis HaMedrash. To date we have added over 200 Sefarim.

Your help is needed in upgrading our collection making it accessible and practical for all levels. No donation is too small. Please redeem your pledges so we can purchase the additional Sefarim.

Tisha B'Av

Beaver Lake will be having the 5th Annual Tisha B'Av Kinnot Program on Tisha B'Av, Sunday, August 7th. There will be an explanation of selected Kinnot following the 9AM Shacharis. Volunteers are needed to introduce and share insights into the Kinnot.

Sullivan County residents were lucky to dodge a power outage last Sunday that hit the Hudson Valley. Remember when BL lost power last August? Being prepared for an outage is the best way to survive one.

What should Beaver Lakers do in case of a power failure?

Turn off light switches and unplug appliances to prevent damage to the appliances when service is restored. Leave only a single lamp turned on so you’ll know when power’s been restored.
Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible. Food will stay frozen for 24 to 48 hours with the doors closed.
Use tap water sparingly. Our water supply is pumped out of the ground through a well system. As the pumps do not work in an outage our water supply may run out depending on the length of the outage
