Dear Residents and Friends:

The BL shareholders meeting was held last Sat night. I wanted those of you who were not at the meeting to get a glimpse of what transpired. Of course, we had reports from operations, camp, financials, etc., but that is not what I am going to focus on.

We have just concluded our multi year capital drive to improve our infrastructure and enhance all our facilities from pool, to lake to sports. Close to half a million dollars was set aside for this multi-year effort. I posed the question whether this effort was successful. The answer came from a first year resident, a very long time resident and a resident who grew up in BL as a child and is now a next generation shareholder. Needless to say, the overwhelming response as well as from the members at large was: Yes, we were successful. But there is a caveat.

We are not yet done

I want to make you all aware that we are getting positioned for the next phase in our on-going journey to make BL GREATER

Five new committees have been formed, with volunteer chairs, to help steer us into the future

3

This committee will outline a plan to create a network of hiking, jogging, biking and exercise paths within the extensive, beautiful lands of the Beaver Lake boundaries. The project aims to enhance the quality of life for residents by providing safe, accessible, and enjoyable outdoor recreational opportunities. By leveraging the community’s over 400 acres of natural wooded areas, we can develop trails which include limited mobility paths that promote health and wellness, foster a sense of community and preserve the environment.

The mission of the Infrastructure Oversight Committee is to ensure the effective planning, execution, and management of our sewer and water systems, as well as the development of enhancement projects both large and small.

The committee will evaluate the current election process for officers and board members and the effectiveness and efficiency of the current one-year election cycle for all board positions. The committee will explore potential alternatives and ensure the election process aligns with the organization’s goals and residents' interests.

"The Small Things, Big Impact Committee" is dedicated to identifying and addressing the small yet significant opportunities within our community to improve, enhance, and fix. Even the smallest changes can create a ripple effect, greatly enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

This committee will develop a plan to conduct a comprehensive review of the current safety and security measures. The goal is to ensure that our community remains a safe and secure environment for all residents. The review will identify potential vulnerabilities and provide recommendations to enhance our security protocols and infrastructure. Please reach out to Harry if you can help.

These new committees join our current committees: Entertainment - Alan Hirsch; BL Beautiful - Ronee Weiden; Camp - Amy Zide; Aquatics - Malki Szpigiel; Refreshments - Yitzi Robinzon; Sports - Paul Gertelman.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions that should be considered by any of these committees, they would certainly love to hear from you.
