The traumatic effects of structural racism on youth of color cannot be understated, but they can be overlooked. Our young people's wounds are often unperceived, misperceived, or dismissed by the very systems intended to serve them, leading to isolation and disconnection.

That is why transformative connections are at the heart of all of Trinity Boston Connects' work. In our youth development programs, young people of color from across Boston experience healing through life-giving connections with caring adults. TEEPers like Shanice and Derrick gain confidence and find their voice as a result of their involvement with TEEP. Young Soles like Barbara feel embraced and empowered in running communities with Sole Train. And students like Shaleeca and Samoya feel understood and experience personal healing and academic growth at the McCormack.

You can hear all of these amazing young people share their stories in the video above. By supporting TBC’s annual fund, you help sustain and strengthen our youth programs in their healing response to Boston’s racial equity challenges.
