End of Year Overview

Our hearts keep thanking you and thanking you for your support this past fiscal year! We raised over $75K in gifts from individuals like you.

Every $250 gift provided a young adult who transitioned out of foster care with a week of intensive independent living support, life planning, and coaching in the pursuit of self-sufficiency.

Every $150 gift provided a young victim of abuse or neglect with a night of care in a safe, comfortable bed along with food, recreation, counseling, healthcare supports and much more!

Every $50 gift provided a child entering foster care with a comprehensive medical exam and a developmental screening to ensure needs are identified and addressed immediately.

As one client wrote "I feel the staff is both welcoming and professional. Everyone who I came into contact with treated me with courtesy and respect. In this difficult time, it is much appreciated."

Because of your support, we were able to do many amazing things for our clients. We look forward to sharing a sampling of our year-end outcomes achievements with you in the next newsletter!
Patty Brisben Foundation Funds New Project

As Pendleton Place continues to serve teenage girls who will age out of foster care, we repeatedly see the need for increased sexual health education. Foster care youth have higher rates of negative sexual health outcomes than the general population.

We recently partnered with the Rose Model for Healthy Relationships to implement a curriculum for our teen residents, which integrates dance and movement into a trauma-informed, research-based and sex-positive program to heal, empower, and ignite their lives and dreams. Our efforts to educate and empower teens living in foster care were nationally recognized by The Patty Brisben Foundation for Women's Sexual Health, who selected Pendleton Place as a grant recipient. We are excited that this grant will allow us to continue partnering with the Rose Model to expand program delivery and increase one-on-one interventions as well as staff training. SPINX Charity Classic Beneficiary

We are honored to have been chosen as one of the 2018 beneficiaries of the  SPINX Charity Classic Golf Tournament held this past May. Thank you to  The Spinx Corporation and Spinks Family Foundation for your generous support of Pendleton Place services. We appreciate your continued support of helping children and rebuilding families affected by abuse and neglect.
BB&T Lighthouse Project

Thanks to a hard-working group from BB&T, the backyard of Connections Count is summer ready! Over a three-week time frame, this team worked on cleaning the patio, gazebo, and flower beds. They added new patio furniture, flowers, and mulch. Our clients and staff will enjoy this spruced up space. Thank you, BB&T!
Outgoing Board Members

The Pendleton Place Leadership Team would like to thank outgoing board members: Lee Moore, Sonya Rigsby, Kimberly Witherspoon (2017 Board Chair), and Hudson Denney (2018 Board Chair) for their outstanding contributions to the organization. Each of these dedicated individuals played an important role in Pendleton Place's chapter of diversification and expansion, and we are grateful for their shared vision and passion.
