Winston Churchill once said something like this:
“Democracy is the worst possible form of government. But it’s still
far better than all those others that have been tried from time to time.”
History tells us that democracy has always been messy, rowdy, and not without controversy. We are fortunate to have the ability to openly debate or disagree with our neighbors or elected representatives because of the sacrifices thousands of men and women made in support of our nation. Today we remember and salute those brave warriors who lost their lives so that we may live in freedom.
The work to “form a more perfect Union” never ends. And, neither does the effort and sacrifice to preserve and defend that opportunity.
