Doing Whatever It Takes to Serve Children

Financial support from individual donors and our communities made it possible for the Club to reopen our doors. Summer programming began in July 2020 to a limited number of children. Then in the Fall, the Boys & Girls Club of Eden-Lake Shore opened for additional hours during the school day. We operated a Virtual Learning Center that helped students learn remotely while the schools were closed. Staff offered educational support to youth and assistance with virtual classes. Although Covid-19 limited the number of youth we could serve, Staff offered a fun and safe place in the full-day program for over 80 kids. In 2021 we continued to offer our full-day program and provided childcare to families. Parents were able to return to work while their children stayed on task with their school work. Because of you, the Club became a place where they could complete their school lessons, finish homework, and hang out with friends. As school schedules continue to change, the Club will continue to adapt and serve our kids and communities.

Announcement of our new campaign!

The hard work is not over. We need your support to continue to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to build great futures for the youth and communities we serve. In the next month, you will be receiving a letter from our Clubs asking for your support. Donations and community support will invest in our youth and help the Club do whatever it takes to help them build a great future. You will help us provide outstanding programming while keeping costs to families at a lower cost. We cannot do it without you. Please consider supporting our Whatever It Takes Campaign so we can offer an affordable, educational, fun, and safe summer and next school year!

Member Spotlight - Aiden

Aiden.jpg

Aiden has been a member of our Eden Clubhouse for a few years. When Aiden started, he participated in a few Club activities. However, this year Aiden joined several new programs, including four square tournaments, STEAM challenges, athletic activities, and even some art and crafts. It seems as though the more programming Aiden is a part of, the more he gains confidence, socialization skills, and most importantly- friendships. His grandmother, a great advocate for the Club, recently remarked how proud she was of Aiden and the growth she has seen in him throughout the program year. The Boys & Girls Club of Eden-Lake Shore is so proud of Aiden!

Thank you to the Town of Evans!

Help from our communities has made all the difference for our Clubs! The Club received funding from the Town of Evans in February 2021 to help us establish a virtual learning center in the Lake Shore School District. The funds allowed us to accommodate the supplemental educational needs of children in the Lake Shore school communities. We are grateful for their support! Their funds helped us offer families a safe Club with high-quality services to help kids with their schoolwork.

Upcoming Programs

Our after-school program is open Monday-Friday from 2-6 pm. The Club offers a wide range of programming that includes sports, crafts, health, and wellness. We also have specialized programs such as STEAM Club, Girls Club, Book Club, and Gardening Club. Homework help and free snacks are available every day.

We now have new program cycles at both of our Clubhouses that include a Gardening Club, a continuation of Girls Club, and improved Triple Play Daily Challenges. The Clubs will also have Games Room tournaments and fun arts and crafts projects.

We are still accepting applications for this school year and began the process for summer registration. Starting in July, summer programs will be available at the Eden Clubhouse! Staff will offer the same great programs and adding a fun sports camp. To sign up for after-school or summer programs, please visit our website here for more info.
