LEAP’s six-weekVirtual Summer Internship Program will employ 50 high school students in Salem, Peabody, and Gloucester starting on July 6th.
The Virtual internship will be comprised of (1) a completed project which will be decided on between the Career Mentor and student and, (2) 6 weekly review sessions with the Career Mentor and LEAP staff.
Just 1 Hour/Week Of Your Time Will Make a Big Difference
CAREER MENTORS WILL CONDUCT:
Project Selection and Review: Work with a student to select a summer project. Conduct weekly check-ins to review the progress of the project and have guided career discussions.
Weekly Career Discussions: Lesson Plans will be given to our Career Mentors to guide a variety of job-readiness topics. Mentors will also share their real-life experience and expertise with LEAP students.
LEAP STAFF WILL:
Conduct Soft Skills workshops to further enrich each student’s experience this summer. Each workshop will focus on important workplace and job search skills, including, financial literacy, and professionalism.
Compensate students for their work when they finish their project and meet minimum attendance standards. (Employers, students, and LEAP staff will monitor hours). Paid internships are critical to the student and their families during such financial uncertainty.
Join us as a Career Mentor!
We are actively recruiting career mentors to support interns in creating a project that boosts career readiness and workforce skills and provide support
through one hour weekly check-ins (July 6 through August 14).
