International Student Program
Become Fully Matriculated
Dear admitted student,

Many classes at SRJC fill up quickly, particularly sections with desirable meeting times. Therefore we strongly recommend that you register for classes as early as possible. SRJC students register for classes in order of priority. To increase your priority level, you must complete all three requirements to become "fully matriculated:"
1) Guided Self-Placement
All SRJC students pursuing an Associate's Degree must take an English and Math class. New students who attended high school internationally must complete Guided Self-Placement (GSP) to identify the course level most suitable for you. You cannot enroll in English or Math classes without GSP results. The GSP activity is available either in-person or online.
2) Online Orientation
General education, pass/no pass, hybrid courses... these are new concepts for most international students. The Counseling department at SRJC provides guidance on college requirements, and they offer an Online Orientation* to help you prepare for your studies before coming to the U.S.
3) Education Plan
It can be overwhelming to choose which classes to take, and in what order. Our International Student Counselors can help you create an Education Plan, outlining your class schedule for current and future semesters. Email them for an appointment.
*Be sure not to confuse Online Orientation with ISP Orientation Day . Both are required for new students!

We strongly recommend that you take the necessary steps to become fully matriculated as soon as possible once you're admitted to SRJC. Getting priority registration is the best way to ensure a successful start in your academic program.

Thank you, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Becky Petrow
