Background on the Gospel Reading

Today’s Gospel marks the beginning of the third long discourse given by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew. Over the next few weeks, the Gospel readings will consist of the entire 13th Chapter of Matthew’s Gospel, a lengthy teaching discourse.

Throughout this discourse, Jesus will offer several parables to illustrate for his listeners what he means by the kingdom of heaven. He begins with the parable of the sower, which appears rather straightforward—of course seeds grow best in good soil. Seeds that miss the soil, are sown on rocky ground, or are sown among other plants will not grow. The surprise in the parable is the enormous yield of the seed that is sown on good soil.

Jesus then explains his use of parables. Jesus seems to suggest that he uses parables to teach because the meanings of parables are not self-evident. The hearer must engage in some degree of reflection in order to comprehend the message of a parable. In this way, the medium—the parable—models the point of the parable of the sower. Those who are willing to engage themselves in the effort to understand will be rewarded by the discovery of the message and will bear fruit.

To bring home the point, Jesus interprets the parable of the sower to his disciples. The different types of soil in which the seeds are sown are metaphors for the disposition with which each individual hears the teaching about the kingdom of heaven. Some will be easily swayed away from the kingdom of heaven. Some will receive it for a time but will lose it when faced with difficulties. Some will hear the word but will then permit other cares to choke it out. Yet some will receive it well, and the seed will produce abundant fruit.

Boney M. was a Euro-Caribbean vocal group created by German record producer Frank Farian, who was the group's primary songwriter. Originally based in West Germany, the four original members of the group's official line-up were Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett from Jamaica, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Farrell, a performing artist from Aruba. The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s. Since the 1980s, various line-ups of the band have performed with different personnel.

Registration Information for the 2026-2027 School Year



We are here to support parents in forming their children in the Catholic Faith and engaging them in our parish community where we worship and grow together in faith. We offer weekly classes for preschool through 8th grade and preparation for the sacraments for children in grades 1 through 8.

The online registration is open for all our classes from Preschool through 8th grade.

Confirmation Registration

Our Confirmation program is a two-year journey! To get started for the 2026–2027 school year, teens must be entering high school (9th grade or higher).

• New Students: If you did not participate last year, please register for the Pre-Confirmation Year.
• Returning Students: If you completed the first year, please register for the Confirmation Year.



This is the first of three registration tiers our office will offer for the 2026–2027 school year. Tier 1 runs from May 20th through June 30th and offers the lowest registration fee. Please note that fees will increase after June 30th.

Families can register either online or in person. If you prefer to register in person, please contact our office to schedule a time.

¡Nuestro programa de Confirmación es un camino de dos años! Para comenzar el año escolar 2026–2027, los jóvenes deben estar ingresando a la escuela secundaria (high school, 9.º grado o superior).

Esta es primer nivel de tres niveles de inscripción que nuestra oficina ofrecerá para el año escolar 2026–2027. El primer nivel estará vigente desde el 20 de mayo hasta el 30 de junio y ofrece la cuota de inscripción más baja. Por favor, tenga en cuenta que las cuotas aumentarán después del 30 de junio.

Nuestra misión es acompañar a los padres de familia en la formación y transmisión de la fe cristiana de sus hijos, favoreciendo que conozcan a Dios, amen a Jesucristo y vivan conforme a las enseñanzas de la Iglesia. Asimismo, procuramos integrarlos a la comunidad parroquial mediante la oración, la celebración litúrgica y diversas actividades que contribuyan a su crecimiento en la fe.

Ofrecemos Catequesis Tradicional, Acompañamiento para niños de Preescolar, Catequesis Familiar e Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos adaptada para niños.

Notas Pastorales

XV Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

El Evangelio de este domingo nos presenta una de las parábolas más conocidas de Jesús: la  parábola del sembrador. El sembrador sale a sembrar con generosidad, y la semilla cae en  distintos tipos de terreno: junto al camino, entre piedras, entre espinos y en tierra buena. Jesús  nos explica que la semilla es la Palabra de Dios y que cada terreno representa la disposición del  corazón humano. 

Lo primero que llama la atención es la generosidad del sembrador. No selecciona únicamente la  tierra fértil, sino que esparce la semilla por todas partes. Así actúa Dios con nosotros. Él nunca  deja de sembrar su amor, su misericordia y su verdad en cada corazón. Nadie queda excluido de  su llamada a la conversión y a la santidad. 

La pregunta que el Evangelio nos plantea es muy personal: ¿Qué clase de tierra soy yo? 

A veces nuestro corazón se parece al camino endurecido, donde la Palabra no logra penetrar  porque vivimos distraídos, indiferentes o cerrados a la acción de Dios. Otras veces somos como  el terreno pedregoso: recibimos el Evangelio con entusiasmo, pero cuando llegan las dificultades,  las pruebas o las críticas, nuestra fe se debilita. También podemos ser como la tierra llena de  espinos, donde las preocupaciones, el afán por los bienes materiales y el ritmo acelerado de la  vida terminan ahogando la presencia de Dios. 

Sin embargo, Jesús nos invita a ser tierra buena. La tierra fértil no nace preparada; necesita ser  trabajada, limpiada y cultivada. Del mismo modo, el corazón del cristiano debe dejarse  transformar continuamente por la gracia de Dios. La oración diaria, la lectura de la Sagrada  Escritura, la participación frecuente en la Eucaristía, el Sacramento de la Reconciliación y las  obras de caridad preparan nuestro corazón para dar abundantes frutos. 

La primera lectura del profeta Isaías nos llena de esperanza. Así como la lluvia y la nieve  fecundan la tierra y no vuelven sin producir fruto, también la Palabra de Dios nunca regresa  vacía. Aunque muchas veces no veamos resultados inmediatos en nuestra vida, en nuestra  familia o en nuestra comunidad, Dios continúa obrando silenciosa y eficazmente. Su Palabra  siempre cumple la misión para la que fue enviada.

Como discípulos de Cristo, no solo estamos llamados a recibir la semilla, sino también a  convertirnos en sembradores. Cada gesto de amor, cada palabra de consuelo, cada acto de perdón  y cada testimonio de fe son semillas que Dios puede hacer crecer en el corazón de quienes nos  rodean. 

Pidamos al Señor, en esta Eucaristía, que ablande nuestro corazón, quite las piedras de la duda y  los espinos del egoísmo y de las preocupaciones excesivas. Que nos conceda un corazón abierto  a su Palabra para que, sostenidos por su gracia, demos frutos abundantes de santidad, esperanza y  amor, para gloria de Dios y bien de toda la Iglesia.
