IT'S TIME TO APPLY! If you haven't done so already, please act quickly to  complete your Staff Application for the 2020 GymRat CHALLENGE events .  In advance of each GymRat event, a staff of 130-150 people is compiled in order to make sure that the highest level of customer service is maintained for all competing teams and spectators, and that all aspects of the event run smoothly in accordance with GymRat standards. In order to be eligible to receive the NIKE staff package, your application must be received by April 15th.   Please do NOT apply if you are not 100% committed to working the events and have ensured your availability on the event dates (listed below).

The BOYS GymRat CHALLENGE will take place on May 23-24, 2020 and the GIRLS GymRat CHALLENGE will follow three weeks later on June 13-14, 2020.


Staff members will play several roles at this year's GymRat CHALLENGE events, including:
  • ADMISSIONS
  • AGE DIVISION DIRECTORS
  • CHECK-IN
  • CONCESSIONS
  • EVALUATION STAFF
  • COURT SUPERVISORS
  • MOVING & LOGISTICS
  • SCOREKEEPERS
  • SITE COORDINATORS
  • SOCIAL MEDIA ADMINISTRATORS
Over 520 teams and over 6,000 athletes representing more than 20 U.S. states and Canadian provinces will compete in the 2020 GymRat CHALLENGE. The GymRat CHALLENGE is the largest event of its kind in the eastern United States.  The beautiful Times-Union Center and the state of the art Capital Center will host the 2020 GymRat CHALLENGE.
The GymRat CHALLENGE has been designated as an Alliance Tournament by USA Basketball.  USA Basketball is the National Governing Body for Men's and Women's Basketball in the United States as recognized and designated by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). USA Basketball is responsible for the selection and training of the men's and women's national teams that represent the United States in international competitions including the Olympic Games and the FIBA Basketball World Cup. 
The GymRat CHALLENGE has also been selected as an Official Qualifier for the Jr. NBA Global Championships. 

The GymRat CHALLENGE is one of ONLY TWO event in the United States to receive this championship pathway endorsement from both USA Basketball and the NBA....two of the world's foremost basketball authorities.

In order to apply to be a member of a GymRat CHALLENGE event staff, follow the simple steps below:
  1. Visit https://gymratchallenge.com/gymrat/ and log into your GymRat account
    • Do NOT create a new account.  Creating a new account will prevent you from being able to access your existing information  
    • If you cannot remember your username, simply click on the FORGOT USER NAME link
    • If you cannot remember your password, simply click on the FORGOT PASSWORD link
    • If you do not have a GymRat account, click on the GET AN ACCOUNT link in the menu in order to create an account in the GymRat system
  2. Click on the WORK FOR US link in the menu
  3. Complete a STAFF APPLICATION for each GymRat event that you would like to work
  4. After completing your STAFF APPLICATION, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of our receipt of your application for each event that you wish to work.
  5. We will notify you on or about May 1st of the status of your application
  6. All staff members are considered independent contractors and are compensated for their work.
  7. In order to receive the additional NIKE staff package, your application must be received by April 15th.
VENUES


Albany's beautiful Times-Union Center (above and left) will play host to the GymRat CHALLENGE in
2020 along with the state of the art Albany Capital Center (below and right), RPI, Skidmore College,
Union College, and Hudson Valley Community College. The Times-Union Center hosted the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds of the 2019 Women's NCAA Tournament and will host first and second rounds of the 2020 Men's NCAA Tournament.
