MEMBERS IN THE NEWS

VBR member receives service award

Crissy Rumford, Realtor® and Managing Broker with LIV Sotheby's International Realty, was recently honored with a Distinguished Service Award from the Colorado Association of REALTORS®

Crissy has made numerous contributions to the industry, including serving as VBR Chair in 2018 and VBR Foundation Chair in 2022. She also has represented CAR and NAR in committee and chair positions, including Co-Chair, RPAC Engagement Council.

Please join us in congratulating Crissy for receiving this honor!

CAR STATEMENT

CAR voices real estate commission concerns with state authorities

Leadership representatives for the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) have shared a formal, detailed letter with appropriate state authorities detailing the association’s deep concern over what appears to be the erosion of transparency, commission independence, and procedural fairness.

These concerns and calls for corrective action are focused on recent actions by the Division of Real Estate and the Assistant Attorneys General in directing the Colorado Real Estate Commission’s rulemaking and form-approval processes. As an association representing 24,000 REALTOR® members throughout Colorado and consumers everywhere, we are committed to constructive engagement and to ensuring a transparent and lawful process for all stakeholders.

These corrective actions are paramount to the process of home buying and selling for consumers, as well as for our members and their ability to serve consumers in what is often the largest financial transaction in their lives.

As this matter is ongoing and under review, CAR representatives, including leaders at the local association level, are not able to provide additional comment.

The Vail Board of REALTORS® will share any updates with members.
