SIGN-UP FOR THE OSP REVIEW COMMITTEE MEMBER DATABASE

WHAT Peer review committee members review and score proposals or applications for highly competitive limited submission funding opportunities or internal faculty award programs.  We are asking for a two fiscal year commitment (07/01/2022 - 06/30/2024). You will be asked to review no more than twice per year, except under extreme circumstances. Your name and participation is confidential and will not be shared.

WHY Annually, you will receive an appreciation letter from the Vice President of Research for inclusion in your UNLV Folio. It's a great opportunity to build your own grant-writing skills. You learn about the research, student activities, and other scholarly activities across campus. Your expertise is invaluable for your fellow faculty members and your dedication and participation as a reviewer is commendable.

HOW Each proposal or application is read thoroughly and scored by at least two if not three reviewers. Each committee member will use weighted scale review criteria which is relevant to individual funding opportunities or internal faculty award competitions. Committee members are asked to provide a short summary of constructive comments to be shared with the PI to help develop future proposals. Some review committees include the requirement of a virtual panel meeting for final selection.  Committee members will recuse themselves from discussion of any proposal where they are listed as a participant or have any other potential conflict of interest. The goal of the review committee's effort is to identify the very best proposals for limited submission to sponsors or UNLV faculty for internal/NSHE award applications.
