Immediate To-Dos

Set up N etID and password: Access your SUMail (@syr.edu), MySlice, Patient Portal, etc.
Access SUMail: Check your @syr.edu email frequently for updates.
Health and Wellness Requirements: Includes Health History Form, Immunization Records, Minor Consent Form and Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire.
Prepare for Arrival: Complete Required Tasks and understand the checklist in My Move In Hub.

Apply for Housing

Due: June 1, 2026

All new students are required to live on campus and are invited to explore the Living Learning Communities (LLCs) as an option. There are more than 25 living learning communities and two theme housing communities to choose from, including communities centered on the arts, business management, cultural exploration, education, global connections, health and wellness, leadership, and science and math.

It is important that you start making travel plans for New Student Move-In and Welcome Week, the University's required new student program. Get started by planning your arrival today!

International Student Move-In: Begins Aug. 14, 2026
Pre-Welcome Participant Move-In: Aug. 16, 2026, or sooner (program dependent)
New Student Move-In: Aug. 17-19, 2026
Transfer Student Orientation: Aug. 19, 2026
Welcome Week (Required): Aug. 20-23, 2026

Deadlines to Keep in Mind

Explore a list of Required Tasks, some of which are listed below. It is your responsibility to make sure you are keeping up with all that is required of you before Welcome Week, so be sure to keep track, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you feel confused or lost. Failure to complete may result in losing the ability to receive your class schedule, additional charges and/or holds on your student account.
