December is always a crazy time of year in college and high school athletics. Crossover season is very real. This year the winter transfer portal for football closed with 5,937 Players in the Transfer Portal as of right now (D1) 3,350, (D2) 1,813, (D3) 763. With 25 years+ of recruiting experience, looking at these numbers leads me to believe that the majority* of these athletes in the portal will fall into two camps: 1. Will not be picked up and played their last game 2. Move down a level or more (or offered PWO) *Very few (less than 10%) will improve their stock!
