Town of Bedford
Bedford Road
Dear Bedford residents,

COVID-19 is still spreading easily if we are not careful. However, we are optimistic as positive case numbers continue to go down, symptoms are mild for vaccinated folks (and vax rates are high so hospitals are not overwhelmed), and we have an incredible community that is taking precautions to keep themselves and others from getting sick. Thank you for your efforts.
County COVID Tracker graph looks good. Wear masks, keep it up!
Another storm is upon us and our Town DPW, Parks, and Building employees are ready with the salt and sand and plows to help keep our roads and town properties as safe as possible. If the storm is severe, please stay off the roads.

To report dangerous road conditions please dial Bedford DPW at
914-666-SNOW.

While COVID and weather have put a damper on many things, we still have so much going on in our town! In just this past week I have enjoyed the Bedford Art Show at St. Matthews, the Arrivals exhibit at the Katonah Museum of Art, the Healthy Yards/ Bedford 2030 Winter Seeding event at the Bedford Hills Train Station, the Bedford Hills Historical Museum at Town Hall, and the Fox Read kickoff at the Bedford Playhouse with Fox Lane graduate Robe Imbriano, Executive Producer and Co-Creator of Amend about the fight for equal rights in America. We are lucky to have so many opportunities to grow and come together around art, nature, history, and ideas!

Thursday, January 27, 2022 was International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, we reflect on the six million Jewish, and millions more lives taken; we honor the survivors of these atrocities; and we acknowledge the rescuers who cast aside indifference to protect the sanctity of life.
In accordance with Bedford’s Resolution against Antisemitism, the Town of Bedford stands firm against hate and is committed to upholding the human rights of all individuals.

Leaf Blower Work session
There will be a discussion among the town board members about the proposed leaf blower law at 6pm on Tuesday, 2/1, prior to the regular board meeting.

This will be an opportunity for the Town Board members to discuss what has been presented by the leaf blower task force, advocates, and opponents and talk about the proposed changes to the existing law. If the town board finalizes a draft to put forward, it will be subject to public notice and a public hearing before it can be voted upon.

There will not be an opportunity for public comment at the work session, but if you want to express your opinion about changes to be made to the current law or the proposed law, please email the town board at townboardmembers@bedfordny.gov.
