Amazing Night of Community Fun
at the 29th Annual Spelling Bee
It was truly an evening of fun and fundraising last night as the Wellesley community came together in support of our schools at the 29th Annual Spelling Bee.

This year, the Wellesley Spelling Bee featured 55 teams , drawn from community organizations, Town committees, local businesses, PTOs and WMS and WHS student and teacher teams. WEF is so appreciative of the enthusiasm which each team brought to their participation in the Bee.
Congratulations to the winning team from Health Advances, LLC. Their team of Melissa Lowder, Laura Gullett and Valerie Enriquez emerged victorious in the final round, edging out other teams by correctly spelling the word "adactylous". Health Advances also won the trophy in 2015.

The support from the Wellesley community to the Bee was truly outstanding. This year, we had over 73 sponsors, and raised over $63,000. The proceeds from the Bee fund WEF's grants program which advances innovation and excellence in the Wellesley Public Schools.

Thank you for your continued trust in our dedication to public education and to our community. With your support, WEF can have a big impact: Last year, WEF provided $260,000 in grants to the Wellesley Public Schools, and has granted over $2 million in the last 10 years.
