August 2019 Bee Cave Buzz
Roundtable - Thursday, August 8 - 6:45 PM
Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church - 7127 Bee Caves Rd
Come join your fellow Scouters to kick off the new program year! Cub Scout Packs will be preparing for the Join Scouting Nights, we'll have our district Popcorn Kernel on-hand to kick off the easiest unit fundraising program around along with the Show-N-Sell lottery, and Scouts BSA troops will be getting a start on Webelos Woods planning. Come at 6:45 for fellowship, and we promise to get you home on-time after our great night of Scouting!
Cubmaster Coffee - Friday, August 30 - 7:00 AM
Los Pinos Restaurant - 11715 Bee Caves Rd in Bee Cave
Come on-time or late, stay as long as you want, but drop in and visit with your fellow Cubmasters and Cub Scout leaders. All are welcome the last Friday morning of every month for a Cub-focused gathering to address whatever you want to talk about!
Advancement Update
Scouts working toward Eagle should be sure to click here to check the district website for the latest Path to Eagle Flowchart! Active Scouters will also want to keep an eye out for the very latest Guide to Advancement 2019 (available at the Fickett Scout Shop - be sure it says "2019" on the cover if you buy one!). Finally, the 14th edition of the Scouts BSA handbook is now available, reflecting the new program name, updated Youth Protection guidelines and minor fixes to the 13th edition. Program elements and rank requirements did not change. There is now a boys' and girls' version which only differ in the images - all requirements and page numbers are identical.
