Study Checks Feasibility Of More Beef Processors In State
Auburn University researchers are conducting a feasibility, marketing and economic impact study of new beef cattle processing in Alabama.

“The ultimate goal of this project will be to provide stakeholders, including potential investors and policymakers, with the information necessary to make informed decisions about economic development opportunities in beef cattle processing in Alabama,” said Extension Economist Adam Rabinowitz.
Alabama To Retain All Seven Congressional Seats
Alabama Farmers Federation welcomed news the state will not lose a congressional district, according to preliminary results from the 2020 census.

“Going into 2020, many predicted Alabama would lose up to two congressional seats and millions of dollars in federal funding,” said Federation President Jimmy Parnell. “The announcement…is a tremendous victory for our state and the people of Alabama.”

State Commodity Leaders Meet
The Alabama Farmers Federation State Bee & Honey Committee met April 28 at Rockhurst Farm in Wilsonville. The group, led by Committee Chair Lionel Evans of Limestone County, discussed policy recommendations and heard from Sweet Grown Alabama Director Ellie Watson.
