Valhalla 33

The Valhalla Boatworks (VBW) V Series has risen to the top of the luxury high-performance center console market through quality, workmanship and attention to detail – not to mention unbeatable performance and engineering and a plethora of enhancements and accessories (for fishing and cruising). These attributes are prevalent throughout the entire fleet, which includes the V-33, V-37, V-41, V-46 and V-55. In this V Report we look at the Valhalla 33 – your gateway into the Valhalla and Viking family. Above: A V-33, featuring a Kingston Grey gelcoat, sitting pretty in the new Valhalla Boat Sales Showroom at the Viking Yachting Center on Route 9 in New Gretna.

A deck layout that maximizes comfort, accessibility and safety is one of the hallmarks of the Valhalla brand. Notice the attractive faux teak toe rail, low-profile recessed bow rail, toekick space around the seating modules and the clear centerline path to the bow.

The resin-infused hardtop, with its beautifully molded-in speaker recesses, matches the hull gelcoat; the solid curved glass helm enclosure provides a gin-clear view, and the outrigger bases (right) are installed in recessed surfaces for a precise fit that will allow the riggers to extend aft perfectly straight.

Yet another example of quality and attention to detail. The bench seating features Release Marine folding armrests and upholstery with custom colors and Diamond/Bentley stitching. A standard stainless steel Edson wheel sits on a raised teak pod, and the factory-installed electronics package with a pair of 17-inch Garmin displays in a recessed black acrylic panel.

The business end of the V-33: The aft seating module holds a slide-out cooler (designed and built in-house) at its base, a pull-out drawer in the center, and at the top a tackle locker with Plano boxes and a flip-up lid that doubles as a worktable. The Seakeeper 2 is installed in an integrated structure molded into the boat’s stringer grid; fish boxes flank the Seakeeper and lazarette hatches, and a 52-gallon live well anchors the cockpit, with a convenient port-side dive door that opens a full 180 degrees.

Powered by a pair of 400-hp Mercury Verados, the V-33 rides on the patented double-stepped SVVT (Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel) hull bottom from Michael Peters Yacht Design. The SVVT’s double steps reduce drag while increasing speed and efficiency, while a centerline tunnel locks in the stern for precise handling and control.
