Street Slurry Project Begins in May

Street Parking Is Limited on Slurry Days

WHAT: Pursuant to long range reserve planning, we are entering the final phase of our 2025 street repairs. This final step is the re-striping of major intersections and the slurry seal for half of the University Hills community residential streets. For 2025 we will start with the older areas in the community (Areas 1-7) (map below) and will return this time next year for the remainder of the community.

WHEN: Monday, May 19th through approximately Wednesday, June 4th, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday. On the day your street is slurried (repaved), there will be no vehicle access to or from your home after 7:30 AM until approximately 4:00 PM that day. Vehicles must be cleared from the street on slurry days no later than 7:30 AM (Streets will be closed for a single day within the 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM schedule). Vehicles should park in garages, driveways or be moved to an adjacent street if you anticipate needing your car on your assigned day. Please plan for use of your car, but also for deliveries, nannies, landscapers, contractors, etc.

IMPORTANT

Any vehicle left on the street during a posted slurry day will be towed. If you anticipate guests or are leaving town, please make arrangements to park on an unaffected University Hills street. This project will generate noise, dust, and the smell of asphalt.

Detailed work schedules will be posted on icha.uci.edu and uhills.org and emailed to residents once confirmed. This schedule is subject to change based on weather and other variables. Notice of work start days will also be posted on each street one to two days prior to the start of work.

  • For 2025 this will include every residential street west of Gabrielino Drive and north of California Avenue.
  • The balance of the UHills residential streets and commuter streets are scheduled to be slurry sealed in 2026.
  • The larger commuter streets (Los Trancos, Vista Bonita, Gabrielino Drive, California Avenue) are not being slurry sealed this year.

WORK HOURS: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
